1st day: Rome
Your trip starts in the ancient city of Rome, where you have the opportunity to go on a first orientation tour in order to see old Roman buildings like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Another highlight is a visit to the Vatican, which is not only the smallest sovereign state in the world but also the home town of the Pope.
2nd day: Rome - Naples
After a shopping tour through the narrow streets of Rome you head south to Naples, located in the Gulf of Naples. The city gives you a great insight into the ancient life of the Romans and together with a guide you will see old catacombs, churches and subterranean streets.
3rd day: Naples - Pompeii - Florence
In the morning you continue your journey to Pompeii, at the foot of the volcano Vesuvius. The Vesuvius ranks among the most explored and well known volcanoes on earth. There is the possibility of joining a tour to go on the volcano. Later in the day you leave the south of Italy and continue to Florence, where you spend the night.
4th day: Florence - Genoa
Florence, which ranks Michelangelo, Donatello, Giotto, Dante, Machiavelli and the Medici among its sons, can be described as a picture book of the Renaissance. If you get tired from so much art, you can best recover with a walk in the gardens of Boboli or a delicious cappuccino on the Piazza della Signoria. In the afternoon you head off to Genoa, where you stay overnight.
5th day: Genoa - Milan
After a city walk in Genoa your journey takes you to the centre of fashion - Milan. You enjoy a bus tour to see the impressive silhouettes of the city by night.
6th day: Milan - Venice
After your city tour in the morning you have enough time to go on a shopping spree in Milan’s innumerable fashion shops. Later in the day you can enjoy another exceptional Italian city – Venice, where you stay overnight.
7th day: Venice - Innsbruck
Venice was and always will be a special city, an exceptional mixture of orient and occident with visible traces of Byzantium all over the place. Built into the ocean in its entirety, the main streets in Venice are waterways. Thus public transport is almost exclusively by boat. This gives you the opportunity to take a ride in a so-called Vaporetto boat and see Venice from its best side. In the evening you leave Italy and enter Austria, where you stay over night in the city of Innsbruck.
8th day: Innsbruck - Munich
Today you start with a city tour of Innsbruck. Already the Habsburgs were fond of Innsbruck and took up residence in this beautiful city. Innsbruck looks back upon an eventful history and its name is affiliated with famous names such as Maximilian I. and Empress Maria Theresia. Innsbruck’s flair is that of an international congress and university town where nature, culture, sport and tradition co-exist harmoniously. From Innsbruck you continue to the Bavarian city of Munich. Munich is a city of contrasts, a metropolis smelling of beer and pretzels. In Germany’s southernmost city you will find modern architecture and historic buildings side by side. Round off your day with an extensive shopping tour.
9th day: Munich - Salzburg
Today you leave Germany behind and cross the border to Austria. Discover Salzburg with its impressive fortress, palaces and museums. As part of your city tour you visit the fortress of Salzburg and the birthplace of the world famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
10th day: Salzburg - Vienna
In the morning you are free to explore Salzburg on your own. Enjoy a delicous cake in one of the many traditional coffeehouses or find a unique souvenir to take home with you. Later in the day you continue your journey to Vienna. On the way to the capital of Austria you travel through the famous Wachau Valley, a World Heritage Site recognized by the UNESCO. Following the loops of the Danube you can watch numerous vineyards passing by. To get a better insight into the Austrian wine tradition you can visit the first Austrian wine museum – the Loisium, where you can watch the process of wine-making. At the end of this eventful day you arrive in Vienna, where you spend the night.
11th day: Vienna
Today you have a full day in Vienna, enabling you to visit some of the majestic theatres, palaces and churches. Together with your tour guide you see Schönbrunn castle, St. Stephan’s Cathedral, the Opera House and other palaces where the emperors and empresses of the Austrian Monarchy used to live not so long ago.
12th day: Vienna – Budapest
Spend your last day in Europe in another fascinating city - Budapest. The excellent Hungarian cuisine and spirited music will charm you. Long, elegant boulevards, stately buildings and a romantic waterfront turn a trip to Budapest into a special experience. As part of your city walk you visit the Matthias Church and see the famous Fishermen’s Bastion.
13th day: Budapest - Rome
This is your last day in Europe! Depending on the flight connection you either fly home directly from Budapest or you take a flight to your starting point Rome and take the next flight back home.
